Dr. Groover grew up in Chicago, and then escaped the cold to attend Rice University for undergrad where she obtained a degree in kinesiology and biological sciences. She later attended University of Florida to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree, did a year-long rotating internship at Michigan State University, and then happily came back to warm, sunny University of Florida to complete a residency in emergency critical care. As a critical care veterinarian, some of Dr. Groover’s favorite cases are toxicities, especially when she can perform blood purification procedures to remove the toxin and prevent organ injury. Managing sepsis, acute kidney injury, and ventilator patients are also areas of interest.

In her spare time, Dr. Groover loves swimming with her fetch-obsessed Labrador mix, Lexi, and going kayaking. She also loves scuba-diving and waterskiing.
