Dr. Carly Iulo (pronounced “eye-you-low”) is a proud, South Carolina native hailing from Hilton Head Island. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Georgia in 2019, graduating with honors and receiving the Award of Excellence in Internal Medicine. Afterward, she completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Dr. Iulo then spent two years working as an emergency veterinarian in Greenville before pursuing an Internal Medicine residency at Auburn University.
During her residency, Dr. Iulo was honored to serve as Chief Resident, a position chosen and voted on by her peers. Her residency research focused on abnormal blood clotting in dogs with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA) and exploring innovative therapeutic approaches to improve outcomes in these patients. In 2025, Dr. Iulo was awarded the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Resident Research Award at the ACVIM conference for her research. Her professional interests include immune-mediated hematological diseases and hepatobiliary disorders. Above all, Dr. Iulo is passionate about building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Outside of work, Dr. Iulo enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Jack, and their “zoo” of pets, which includes three cats—Goose, Toaster Strudel (Toast), and Rigatoni—and two rescue German Shepherds, Freya and Odin. An avid Orange Theory enthusiast, she loves to exercise and enjoys cheering on the Clemson Tigers in her spare time.
