Carmelle Walker, DVM Emergency Clinician

Dr. Walker grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and earned both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Louisiana State University. Although she originally planned to become an equine veterinarian after shadowing equine practitioners while growing up, she discovered a passion for small animal emergency medicine during veterinary school. There, she found she loved the variety and problem-solving that each case brings. 

 

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Walker enjoys horseback riding, vegetable gardening, hiking, and her newest hobby, sourdough baking. She also loves traveling and road-tripping, trying new foods, and spending time with her family—especially visiting Walt Disney World with her sister. At home, she enjoys relaxing with her dog, Fletcher, and her cat, Miso Soup, while sipping a hot cup of coffee.”
