Dr. Lydia Sixta was born and raised in Iowa and earned her undergraduate degree at St. Ambrose University. She pursued her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at St. George’s University, completing her clinical year at North Carolina State University.

Dr. Sixta continued her training with a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical City in New York City followed by a combined masters of veterinary medical science and residency program specializing in medical oncology at the University of Florida. Her clinical interests include bone cancer, immunotherapy, among other novel cancer therapies, and striving to provide the best possible quality of life for her patients.

Outside of work, Dr. Sixta enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs, Angus, Fergus and Chili Pepper. Her other interests include traveling, CrossFit, trying out new restaurants and reading.
