Dr. Marc Havig
Dr. Marc Havig’s professional interests focus on clinical orthopedics, particularly arthroscopy, minimally invasive fracture fixation, and physical rehabilitation.  Dr. Havig grew up and currently resides in Naples, FL where he has practiced since 2011.  He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and performed his post graduate clinical training at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital (surgical residency), University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (general rotating internship) and the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (surgical internship).   Prior to opening a multi- specialty hospital in Naples, his clinical positions included Staff Surgeon and Chair, Department of Surgery at The Animal Medical Center (AMC) in New York, NY, Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital and staff surgeon at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ.  Dr. Havig focuses on providing state of the art care for animals, providing a high level of client service through optimal communication with clients and primary referring veterinarians, and building an engaged and dedicated support team of technicians and assistants.  In Naples, Dr. Havig has had the opportunity to work with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) on injured Florida panthers, one of which was featured in the recent award winning National Geographic documentary “Path of the Panther”.  To date, that is the only wild large cat successfully treated for multiple limb fractures (3 broken legs) and able to be returned to the wild.  He also serves as a consultant for Arthrex, Inc., a world- wide leader in human and animal orthopedics.  
 
When not at work, Dr. Havig spends his time with his Chesapeake Bay retriever named Finn, a Labrador retriever named Kenny, and a cat named Fishstix. He also enjoys salt water fly fishing in the Ten Thousand Islands/ Everglades National Park and spending time on his farm outside of Arcadia, FL.
