Dr. Samantha Barth grew up in central Florida and attended the University of Florida to study wildlife and conservation. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University in Grenada in the Caribbean, and became interested in internal medicine due to professors who were passionate about the field. She completed a challenging one-year small animal rotating internship at AMC in NYC, and became a general practitioner in the East Village for two years where she treated all manner of exotics, birds, dogs, and cats. After two years, she still heard the call of internal medicine and decided to enter the specialty world again, where she completed a one-year specialty medicine internship at ASEC in Los Angeles followed by a three-year internal medicine residency at Virginia Tech. She has special interests in gastroenterology, endocrinology, and loves performing procedures.
Dr. Barth has finally returned home to Florida where she spends time off with her family and friends who thought she would never come back. She enjoys traveling and has visited multiple countries: her favorite trip was to Ireland and she has started exploring Asia. Domestically she enjoys reading fiction, relaxing at the beach, cooking and baking to the detriment of everyone’s waistlines, and thrifting/antiquing.
