Dr. Sheryl Chewcaskie grew up in New Jersey, where her passion for medicine began early. While still in high school, she joined her town’s volunteer ambulance corps and earned her EMT certification, sparking a lifelong interest in emergency medicine.

She pursued her undergraduate studies at Fordham University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During college, she decided to combine her love for medicine and animals by pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. She went on to attend Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating cum laude.

Seeking warmer weather, Dr. Chewcaskie moved to Florida, where she has built a distinguished career in both general practice and emergency veterinary medicine. In 2004, she became eligible to sit for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) certification in Canine and Feline Medicine and has since maintained her Diplomate status through two recertification cycles.

Outside of work, Dr. Chewcaskie enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats. She has a passion for cooking, baking, gardening, outdoor activities, and international travel.
